According to Article 2 of the Ministerial Decree of August 6, 2024, the Office is responsible for:
- managing the collection and aggregation of accounting and financial data related to the budget of the main expenditure areas;
- monitoring the revenue flow derived from services and institutional obligations for the purposes of budget reallocation procedures;
- coordinating ministerial activities for the definition and monitoring of spending review objectives;
- overseeing financial planning, budget adjustments, and the allocation of reserve funds and the Single Justice Fund [Fondo Unico Giustizia];
- fulfilling the obligations related to the implementation of expenditure laws;
- overseeing compliance with the requirements related to the reliability of accounting records and financial reporting data;
- conducting analysis and monitoring of budgets and financial statements of entities supervised by the Ministry of Justice;
- monitoring the use of allocated resources through the distribution of the investment fund, the National Complementary Plan, and the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR);
- promoting studies, research, and financial and budgetary analyses related to the justice sector;
- providing support and coordination for the activities of the Investment Evaluation and Verification Unit of the Ministry of Justice.
